stop sign Have you checked PowerShool? This is your responsibility! Make sure that the grade you are recieving is the grade you are expecting. If not, then it is probably a good idea to talk to your teacher about why that is. Easy hed 796x398 Technology is not an easy button to be exploited. It is created by humans to aid in a variety of tasks. It must be learned, harnessed and mastered.

DUE DATES MATTER!

Late Assignments: Assignments submitted past the due date are subject to the following:

  • 10% loss of points (of the overall possible total) per day that the assignment is late.
  • 0% is awarded if an assignment is submitted past the five day mark. The only way an assignment will be graded past this period is if a FULL SIZED Milky Way Midnight , Twix (any kind), or Snickers (Almond), candy bar is surrendered to the teacher. It will cost one candy bar per late assignment, per week past the extended due date. Example: if an assignment is three weeks past the due date, it will cost three candy bars.
    • This exchange will buy you time. It will not buy you guaranteed success on a project. All rubrics and grading standards still apply
  • All late assignments must be followed up with an email to the teacher

Bad Photos

REMEMBER TO USE APPROPRIATE SHUTTER SPEED, F-STOP, AND ISO FOR A GOOD PHOTO.  CONSIDER USING ANGLE SHOTS FROM BELOW, ABOVE, ETC. DO NOT GIVE ME BORING STRAIGHT-ON SHOTS. MY CRITICAL EYE FINDS THOSE TYPES OF IMAGES BORING. A BAD PHOTO IS A BAD PHOTO...THERE ISN'T ENOUGH PHOTOSHOP IN THE WORLD TO SAVE A BAD PHOTO.

Due Date: December 4

  1. Rationale
  2. Assignment

Assignment (60 points):

Have you ever told a story before? Is a picture really worth a thousand words? Sometimes, what we say and how we say it doesn't do the best job of getting the point across. Sometimes, we really need to show others what we are trying to say.

Your task: Choose a process and photographically retrace the steps. For instance, baking a cake requires more than one step. You need to select what kind of cake you want to bake. Next, you must decide on what ingredients are to be used. The cake making process usually requires the baker to mix, whip, fold, and pour the cake's batter at different steps in order to properly make and bake the cake.

Examples of a process:

  • Changing the oil in a car
  • Building a computer from scratch
  • Proper maintenance of a lawn mower
  • Stripping/Re-Staining furniture or heirloom
  • Creating a sculpture from clay
  • Washing a dog
  • Making lasagna
  • Assembling a new desk.
  • The possibilities are endless.

These topics will not be allowed: Anything that is deemed inapproprite in the student hand book, playing a video game, how to sleep lying down, how to relax with your eyes closed, reading a book (or, anything that is pretty much effortless in my eyes).

ALL SEQUENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT IDEAS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO ME FIRST BEFORE THEY ARE APPROVED TOPIC IDEAS.

Project Requirements:

    • Create a new folder called "DIY." This is where all of your materials will be saved.
    • At least 10 Photos are to be shot of your chosen processes.
      • Use different camera angles
      • Use different Depth of Field
      • Use adjustment layers in photoshop to correct coloring and contrast (so that they are not too dark/too light)
    • The photos must be different steps in your process. For example, photos that depict a repeated process will not be accepted.
    • The images must be cropped so that they are all of a uniform size (example: 640 pixels wide / 480 pixels tall). The images must be laid out in the same format as the provided sample.
    • Use Google Slides to assemble your presentation (step by step)
      • Include photos
      • Include backgrounds (textured/patterned) for each slide - each must be different - NO DUPLICATES!
      • Include text that describes the steps of the process
    • When you have finished with your presentation, share this with me.
